This page explains SMS opt-in disclosures for Deductible Duck users who choose SMS two-factor authentication.
Program Name
Deductible Duck SMS Two-Factor Authentication
Description
Deductible Duck uses SMS solely to deliver one-time passcodes for two-factor authentication during user-initiated login attempts. No marketing or promotional messages are sent.
Opt-In Process
Users opt in to SMS-based two-factor authentication by logging into their Deductible Duck account at https://app.deductibleduck.com and enabling SMS authentication in their account security settings. A verification code is sent only after the user requests it during login.
The opt in form is not publicly accessible, so screenshots have been provided below for the flow behind the login
- 1. Users login to https://app.deductibleduck.com and visit their Personal Profile to update their Two Factor Auth options for SMS, and enter their mobile number (see https://deductibleduck.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/2fa-workflow-step-1.png)
- 2. User enters their phone number and then User clicks Send Code after entering a valid US-only number (see https://deductibleduck.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/2fa-workflow-step-2.png)
- 3. User waits to receive a code on their phone to verify the device (see https://deductibleduck.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/2fa-workflow-step-3.png)
- 4. User returns to app, enters the code on the screen and clicks Verify (see https://deductibleduck.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/2fa-workflow-step-4.png)
- 5. After validation, they are allowed to select Two Factor Authentication using SMS instead of email. (see https://deductibleduck.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/2fa-workflow-step-5.png)
- 6. User received Opt In Confirmation message below to indicate they have registered to use 2FA with SMS
- 7. Users may disable SMS-based two-factor authentication at any time from their account security settings. No SMS messages are sent unless the user initiates a login and requests a verification code.
Message Frequency
Messages are sent only during login attempts when the user requests a one-time authentication code.
Opt-Out Information
Users may disable SMS-based two-factor authentication at any time from their account security settings. Replying STOP will disable SMS authentication for that phone number.
